Rule 29
Page 140, #1 – learn everything you can about your new job once you're hired. Learn everything you can about all the product lines of your company. If you're working for a hardware company in a software development position, learn everything they have to offer about chips and motherboards. If you're in a server support role in a telecom company, learn everything there is to learn about telecom. This makes you much more well rounded and valuable to a much wider array of future employers. And as to #6 – don't take a job just to meet potential dates. Most companies frown on dating colleagues. Remember, it’s not worth losing your job over.
