Rule 23
It’s interesting how we have interpreted this Rule. We take it apply to jobs that are not available. Sure, you want to work for Company X, but so does everyone else. Yes, it would be nice to work for a name brand company, but it’s hard to get in, and they don't hire all that frequently. So what do you do? Do you wait and wait and wait to be hired there, hoping for one day, maybe, perhaps? No. If you are looking for another job, you are looking for another job. You aren't waiting for maybe or someday. If this Company X that is so wonderful has a position available for you, then lucky them. If they don't, it’s their loss not yours. Go where you are wanted and where there is an opening. Don't waste your time hoping for something that may never happen. In fact, I've seen it happen more often than not, that when you get hired elsewhere, you acquire skills and experience that the name brand company just has to have, Remember, if you have both your hands open, and you fill one with wishes, and the other one with job offers, which hand fills up first?
