1.20.2008Chandler Hill is at it again - scam alert
Their latest trick is to try to link the good name of jobfairy.com along with the name of their company as they googlebomb the search engines. Fortunately I have a link alert set up through google that tells me when anyone links to jobfairy.com and in what context that linking occurs. Now, I've mentioned them previously - http://www.jobfairy.com/weblog/2004/20040725.html, but here are some other recent links to their shenanigans too... http://ripoffreport.com/reports/0/096/ripoff0096293.htm and http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=8785. I am sorry that people keep falling for these things... the job market's not all that good yet and when it's not, the wolves come out to prey on the vulnerable.
The more I think about it, the more I wonder - should jobfairy.com offer actual "pay" services? Resume rewriting, advice on surviving corporate politics, things like that? We're honest, we're smart, we're funny, we have an attitude problem. We wouldn't charge you anything until after you get your first paycheck. What do you think? Send your thoughts on this to the help AT jobfairy DOT com address. We never thought to get in this for the money of it, because all we ever wanted to do was help. But I have the feeling that if we're not in there making it difficult for the predators of this world to take advantage of people by competing with them and offering honest services, we're just letting the problem fester. I think we've played defense long enough; maybe it's time now to go on the offense.
